# Orlando Sentinel vs NJ.com

The clearest difference is monetization model: Orlando Sentinel at free with in-app purchases against NJ.com's subscription. Orlando Sentinel also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). NJ.com's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (25K vs 4.6K). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Orlando Sentinel sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and NJ.com sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Orlando Sentinel against 4.5 for NJ.com. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NJ.com has 25K ratings behind it against 4.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 23% of Orlando Sentinel's written reviews are positive against 18% of NJ.com's.

Orlando Sentinel ships an update monthly, NJ.com every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
