# Flying Hamster vs School Hero

The clearest difference is rating: Flying Hamster at 4.1 against School Hero's 3.3. Flying Hamster also leads on ratings volume (64 vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). School Hero's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 79%). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Flying Hamster costs $3.99 and School Hero $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Flying Hamster holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flying Hamster has 64 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Flying Hamster's written reviews are positive against 100% of School Hero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flying Hamster ships an update every 6 months, School Hero every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
