# Virtual Menorah vs Sub

The clearest difference is price: Sub at Free against Virtual Menorah's $1.99. Sub also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (778 vs 2). Virtual Menorah's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 15%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.5). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Sub is free to download; Virtual Menorah costs $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sub holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sub has 778 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Virtual Menorah's written reviews are positive against 15% of Sub's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Virtual Menorah ships an update monthly, Sub every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
