# Real Chess vs Exit Hero

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Exit Hero at 80% against Real Chess's 36%. Exit Hero also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.3). Real Chess's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (49 vs 7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Real Chess sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Exit Hero sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Exit Hero holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Real Chess has 49 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 36% of Real Chess's written reviews are positive against 80% of Exit Hero's.

Real Chess ships an update fortnightly, Exit Hero every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
