# Flashlight ∎ vs PRIME Wire

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PRIME Wire at none against Flashlight ∎'s 1. PRIME Wire also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Flashlight ∎'s advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 39%) and ratings volume (10K vs 1K). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flashlight ∎ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. PRIME Wire asks for nothing beyond the download.

PRIME Wire holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight ∎ has 10K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Flashlight ∎'s written reviews are positive against 39% of PRIME Wire's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flashlight ∎ ships an update every 7 months, PRIME Wire every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
