# WordStorm vs The Impossible Word Game

The clearest difference is rating: WordStorm at 4.1 against The Impossible Word Game's 3.0. WordStorm also leads on ratings volume (29 vs 2) and chart position (#80 vs unranked). The Impossible Word Game's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 61%) and price ($0.99 vs $3.99). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

WordStorm costs $3.99 and The Impossible Word Game $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WordStorm holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordStorm has 29 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of WordStorm's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Impossible Word Game's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WordStorm ships an update every 9 months, The Impossible Word Game every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
