# Amtrak vs UCSB Campus Mobility

The clearest difference is monetization model: UCSB Campus Mobility at free against Amtrak's free with in-app purchases. UCSB Campus Mobility also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Amtrak's advantage is ratings volume (222K vs 2) and chart position (#20 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

UCSB Campus Mobility holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amtrak has 222K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
