# MyLight vs Flashlight

The clearest difference is ratings volume: MyLight at 29K against Flashlight's 19. MyLight also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.5). Flashlight's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyLight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flashlight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for MyLight against 4.4 for Flashlight. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyLight has 29K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MyLight ships an update every 5 months, Flashlight every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
