# Guitar vs Pluto Controller

The clearest difference is rating: Guitar at 4.5 against Pluto Controller's 4.0. Guitar also leads on ratings volume (7.6K vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Pluto Controller's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 15) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guitar sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Pluto Controller asks for nothing beyond the download.

Guitar holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guitar has 7.6K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Guitar's written reviews are positive against 75% of Pluto Controller's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Guitar ships an update every 3 weeks, Pluto Controller every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
