# Expressive Builder vs Articulation Test Center Hive

The clearest difference is price: Articulation Test Center Hive at Free against Expressive Builder's $9.99. Articulation Test Center Hive also leads on rating (4.8 vs 2.8) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). Expressive Builder's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 64%) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 16.0). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Articulation Test Center Hive is free to download; Expressive Builder costs $9.99 up front. Expressive Builder sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Articulation Test Center Hive sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Articulation Test Center Hive holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Articulation Test Center Hive has 155 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Expressive Builder's written reviews are positive against 64% of Articulation Test Center Hive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Expressive Builder ships an update every 4 months, Articulation Test Center Hive monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
