# Main vs Main

The clearest difference is monetization model: Main at free with in-app purchases against Main's subscription. Main also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months). Main's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (50% vs 35%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Main sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per month and Main sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Main holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 22 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 35% of Main's written reviews are positive against 50% of Main's.

Main ships an update every 3 months, Main every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
