# Edmonton Journal vs Canada Press

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Canada Press at 59% against Edmonton Journal's 7%. Canada Press also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (55 vs 10). Edmonton Journal's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 12 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Edmonton Journal sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Canada Press sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Canada Press holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canada Press has 55 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 7% of Edmonton Journal's written reviews are positive against 59% of Canada Press's.

Edmonton Journal ships an update monthly, Canada Press every 12 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
