# Algebra vs Math Hero

The clearest difference is update cadence: Math Hero at every 10 days against Algebra's every 4 months. Math Hero also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 84%). Algebra's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Algebra sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Math Hero sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Math Hero holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Algebra has 1.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of Algebra's written reviews are positive against 100% of Math Hero's.

Algebra ships an update every 4 months, Math Hero every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
