# I.Q. vs Skillz

The clearest difference is rating: Skillz at 4.2 against I.Q.'s 2.9. Skillz also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 23%) and ratings volume (60 vs 7). I.Q.'s advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. I.Q. sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Skillz sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Skillz holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skillz has 60 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 23% of I.Q.'s written reviews are positive against 53% of Skillz's.

I.Q. ships an update every 2 weeks, Skillz every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
