# SWISSVIEW vs SwissTrains

The clearest difference is rating: SwissTrains at 4.1 against SWISSVIEW's 1.0. SwissTrains also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 63%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). SWISSVIEW's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 12 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SWISSVIEW sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per month and SwissTrains sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SwissTrains holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SwissTrains has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of SWISSVIEW's written reviews are positive against 100% of SwissTrains's.

SWISSVIEW ships an update every 4 months, SwissTrains every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
