# Five vs Fox board

The clearest difference is rating: Fox board at 5.0 against Five's 4.5. Fox board also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). Five's advantage is ratings volume (70 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fox board holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Five has 70 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Five ships an update every 4 months, Fox board every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
