# de Volkskrant Krant vs NOS

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: NOS at none against de Volkskrant Krant's 7. NOS also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). de Volkskrant Krant's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. de Volkskrant Krant sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. NOS asks for nothing beyond the download.

NOS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NOS has 1.2K ratings behind it against 95, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of de Volkskrant Krant's written reviews are positive against 44% of NOS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

de Volkskrant Krant ships an update every 4 months, NOS every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
