# Mapster vs 3D Offline Maps

The clearest difference is update cadence: 3D Offline Maps at weekly against Mapster's every 14 months. 3D Offline Maps also leads on ratings volume (647 vs 15) and review sentiment (80% vs 62%). Mapster's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mapster sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and 3D Offline Maps sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mapster holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 3D Offline Maps has 647 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Mapster's written reviews are positive against 80% of 3D Offline Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mapster ships an update every 14 months, 3D Offline Maps weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
