# Tanger vs Vacation Sidekick

The clearest difference is rating: Tanger at 4.8 against Vacation Sidekick's 3.1. Tanger also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (10K vs 27). Vacation Sidekick's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (35% vs 18%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tanger holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tanger has 10K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Tanger's written reviews are positive against 35% of Vacation Sidekick's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tanger ships an update every 5 weeks, Vacation Sidekick every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
