# Tanger vs ShopSimon

The clearest difference is rating: Tanger at 4.8 against ShopSimon's 4.4. Tanger also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 412) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). ShopSimon's advantage is review sentiment (31% vs 18%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tanger holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tanger has 10K ratings behind it against 412, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Tanger's written reviews are positive against 31% of ShopSimon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tanger ships an update every 5 weeks, ShopSimon every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
