# Splice vs Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker at free with in-app purchases against Splice's subscription. Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.0). Splice's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (431K vs 4.5K). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splice sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Splice against 4.6 for Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Splice has 431K ratings behind it against 4.5K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of Splice's written reviews are positive against 65% of Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker's.

Splice ships an update fortnightly, Fast & Easy Slideshow Maker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
