# Splice vs Reverse Video

The clearest difference is rating: Splice at 4.6 against Reverse Video's 2.5. Splice also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 25 months). Reverse Video's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splice sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Reverse Video sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Splice holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Splice has 431K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Splice ships an update fortnightly, Reverse Video every 25 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
