# Splice vs Video Reverse

The clearest difference is rating: Splice at 4.6 against Video Reverse's 3.0. Splice also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). Video Reverse's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splice sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Video Reverse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Splice holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Splice has 431K ratings behind it against 122, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 71% and 71% positive.

Splice ships an update fortnightly, Video Reverse every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
