# ProtoThema HD vs Helios Kiosk

The clearest difference is rating: ProtoThema HD at 3.4 against Helios Kiosk's 1.3. ProtoThema HD also leads on ratings volume (17 vs 4) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Helios Kiosk's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ProtoThema HD sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per 3 months and Helios Kiosk sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ProtoThema HD holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 1.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of ProtoThema HD's written reviews are positive against 23% of Helios Kiosk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ProtoThema HD ships an update every 8 months, Helios Kiosk every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
