# Schoology vs 5

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Schoology at 133K against 5's 6.6K. 5's advantage is review sentiment (27% vs 14%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 1.3 for Schoology against 1.4 for 5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Schoology has 133K ratings behind it against 6.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 14% of Schoology's written reviews are positive against 27% of 5's.

Schoology ships an update every 2 months, 5 monthly. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
