# IAFF Foundation Pro vs ShiftDad

The clearest difference is monetization model: ShiftDad at free with in-app purchases against IAFF Foundation Pro's subscription. ShiftDad also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (67% vs 46%). IAFF Foundation Pro's advantage is ratings volume (5.9K vs 9) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IAFF Foundation Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year and ShiftDad sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for IAFF Foundation Pro against 4.6 for ShiftDad. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IAFF Foundation Pro has 5.9K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 46% of IAFF Foundation Pro's written reviews are positive against 67% of ShiftDad's.

IAFF Foundation Pro ships an update every 5 months, ShiftDad every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
