# Reminder vs Melo

The clearest difference is update cadence: Reminder at every 6 days against Melo's every 3 months. Reminder also leads on ratings volume (341 vs 17). Melo's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reminder sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.95 per year and Melo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Melo holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reminder has 341 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Reminder's written reviews are positive against 75% of Melo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Reminder ships an update every 6 days, Melo every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
