# RPG vs mSecure

The clearest difference is ratings volume: mSecure at 51K against RPG's 30. mSecure also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). RPG's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RPG sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and mSecure sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

mSecure holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: mSecure has 51K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of RPG's written reviews are positive against 62% of mSecure's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RPG ships an update every 5 months, mSecure every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
