# Write.r vs Notes Genie

The clearest difference is update cadence: Write.r at every 5 weeks against Notes Genie's every 3 months. Notes Genie's advantage is device support and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Write.r sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notes Genie sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Write.r ships an update every 5 weeks, Notes Genie every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
