# e vs 古文岛

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: e at none against 古文岛's 16. e also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.5). 古文岛's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 14 months) and review sentiment (85% vs 56%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 古文岛 sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. e asks for nothing beyond the download.

e holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 古文岛 has 126 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of e's written reviews are positive against 85% of 古文岛's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

e ships an update every 14 months, 古文岛 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
