# Cuckoo vs Westminster Chimes Lite

The clearest difference is rating: Westminster Chimes Lite at 4.0 against Cuckoo's 3.4. Westminster Chimes Lite also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (323 vs 16). Cuckoo's advantage is review sentiment (68% vs 52%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cuckoo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Westminster Chimes Lite sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Westminster Chimes Lite holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Westminster Chimes Lite has 323 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Cuckoo's written reviews are positive against 52% of Westminster Chimes Lite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cuckoo ships an update every 3 months, Westminster Chimes Lite every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
