# Altimeter X vs Elevation

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Altimeter X at 82% against Elevation's 30%. Altimeter X also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). Elevation's advantage is price (Free vs $0.99) and rating (4.5 vs 2.5).

Elevation is free to download; Altimeter X costs $0.99 up front. Elevation sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month. Altimeter X asks for nothing beyond the download.

Elevation holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Elevation has 5.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Altimeter X's written reviews are positive against 30% of Elevation's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Altimeter X ships an update every 28 months, Elevation every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
