# Best Phone Security vs ViceGuard

The clearest difference is ads: ViceGuard at none against Best Phone Security's shown. ViceGuard also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 69%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Best Phone Security's advantage is ratings volume (3K vs 5) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Best Phone Security sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ViceGuard sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ViceGuard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Best Phone Security has 3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Best Phone Security's written reviews are positive against 100% of ViceGuard's.

Best Phone Security ships an update every 3 months, ViceGuard every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
