# Timer Auto Camera vs Lens Squid

The clearest difference is ads: Lens Squid at none against Timer Auto Camera's shown. Lens Squid also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Timer Auto Camera's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer Auto Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Lens Squid sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lens Squid holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timer Auto Camera has 1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Timer Auto Camera ships an update every 2 months, Lens Squid every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
