# Speedometer Classic vs Speedometer ⁺

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Speedometer ⁺ at none against Speedometer Classic's 1. Speedometer ⁺ also leads on review sentiment (62% vs 34%) and update cadence (every 5 months vs every 13 months). Speedometer Classic's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer Classic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Speedometer ⁺ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speedometer Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer ⁺ has 2.1K ratings behind it against 180, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Speedometer Classic's written reviews are positive against 62% of Speedometer ⁺'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speedometer Classic ships an update every 13 months, Speedometer ⁺ every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
