# PhotoSync vs TripTails

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: TripTails at none against PhotoSync's 7. TripTails also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). PhotoSync's advantage is ratings volume (8.2K vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhotoSync sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. TripTails asks for nothing beyond the download.

TripTails holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PhotoSync has 8.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PhotoSync ships an update every 2 months, TripTails every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
