# BoardEffect vs ACEP Events

The clearest difference is rating: ACEP Events at 4.7 against BoardEffect's 3.5. ACEP Events also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). BoardEffect's advantage is review sentiment (58% vs 25%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ACEP Events holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 48 and 115 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of BoardEffect's written reviews are positive against 25% of ACEP Events's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BoardEffect ships an update every 2 months, ACEP Events every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
