# Variety vs Horrid Headlines

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Horrid Headlines at none against Variety's 4. Variety's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 23) and chart position (#180 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Variety sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month. Horrid Headlines asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Variety against 4.7 for Horrid Headlines. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Variety has 1.7K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
