# Harkins Theatres vs FunPass

The clearest difference is rating: Harkins Theatres at 3.3 against FunPass's 2.2. Harkins Theatres also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (572 vs 47). FunPass's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Harkins Theatres holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Harkins Theatres has 572 ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Harkins Theatres's written reviews are positive against 29% of FunPass's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Harkins Theatres ships an update every 8 days, FunPass every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
