# Reading Trainer vs FLOOX reader

The clearest difference is update cadence: Reading Trainer at every 5 weeks against FLOOX reader's every 9 months. Reading Trainer also leads on ratings volume (214 vs 5). FLOOX reader's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reading Trainer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and FLOOX reader sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FLOOX reader holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reading Trainer has 214 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Reading Trainer's written reviews are positive against 80% of FLOOX reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Reading Trainer ships an update every 5 weeks, FLOOX reader every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
