# Reading Trainer vs Spreeder

Reading Trainer and Spreeder are too close to call on the numbers: across 10 compared parameters — price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. Reading Trainer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Spreeder sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spreeder holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 220 and 417 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Reading Trainer's written reviews are positive against 80% of Spreeder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Reading Trainer ships an update every 5 weeks, Spreeder monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
