# Altimeter+ vs AeroAltitude

The clearest difference is monetization model: Altimeter+ at free against AeroAltitude's paid. Altimeter+ also leads on ratings volume (708 vs 5) and review sentiment (80% vs 60%). AeroAltitude's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Altimeter+ costs $1.99 and AeroAltitude $2.29 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AeroAltitude holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Altimeter+ has 708 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Altimeter+'s written reviews are positive against 60% of AeroAltitude's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
