# GMX vs Atomic Mail

The clearest difference is ads: Atomic Mail at none against GMX's shown. Atomic Mail also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). GMX's advantage is review sentiment (77% vs 51%) and ratings volume (17K vs 288). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GMX sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Atomic Mail sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GMX holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GMX has 17K ratings behind it against 288, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of GMX's written reviews are positive against 51% of Atomic Mail's.

GMX ships an update fortnightly, Atomic Mail every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
