# iPatente vs iliad

The clearest difference is rating: iliad at 4.4 against iPatente's 2.0. iliad also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (65 vs 7). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

iliad holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iliad has 65 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of iPatente's written reviews are positive against 33% of iliad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iPatente ships an update every 2 months, iliad fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
