# HeInput vs Learn Chinese for Beginners

The clearest difference is rating: HeInput at 5.0 against Learn Chinese for Beginners's 4.4. HeInput also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Learn Chinese for Beginners's advantage is ratings volume (138 vs 2) and review sentiment (93% vs 78%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HeInput sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Learn Chinese for Beginners sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HeInput holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Chinese for Beginners has 138 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of HeInput's written reviews are positive against 93% of Learn Chinese for Beginners's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
