# Snow vs Alertable

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Alertable at none against Snow's 12. Alertable also leads on review sentiment (61% vs 47%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). Snow's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snow sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Alertable asks for nothing beyond the download.

Snow holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snow has 991 ratings behind it against 179, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Snow's written reviews are positive against 61% of Alertable's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Snow ships an update every 3 weeks, Alertable every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
