# Snow vs SunMonitor

Snow and SunMonitor both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of SunMonitor's written reviews are positive against 47% of Snow's. SunMonitor also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Snow's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 3) and chart position (#69 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snow sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and SunMonitor sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Snow against 5.0 for SunMonitor. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snow has 1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of Snow's written reviews are positive against 100% of SunMonitor's.

Snow ships an update every 3 weeks, SunMonitor every 5 days. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
