# Grungetastic vs ThrashCam

Grungetastic and ThrashCam both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of Grungetastic's written reviews are positive against 0% of ThrashCam's. Grungetastic also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (188 vs 1). ThrashCam's advantage is price (Free vs $2.99) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). On rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ThrashCam is free to download; Grungetastic costs $2.99 up front. ThrashCam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Grungetastic asks for nothing beyond the download.

ThrashCam holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grungetastic has 188 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Grungetastic's written reviews are positive against 0% of ThrashCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grungetastic ships an update every 6 months, ThrashCam every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
