# EF Scale vs DeltaWeather

EF Scale and DeltaWeather both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of DeltaWeather's written reviews are positive against 67% of EF Scale's. DeltaWeather also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EF Scale holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of EF Scale's written reviews are positive against 100% of DeltaWeather's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EF Scale ships an update every 20 months, DeltaWeather every 17 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
