# iTopnews vs Apfelpage

The clearest difference is rating: Apfelpage at 4.5 against iTopnews's 4.0. Apfelpage also leads on ratings volume (11 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). iTopnews's advantage is review sentiment (87% vs 62%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Apfelpage holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Apfelpage has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of iTopnews's written reviews are positive against 62% of Apfelpage's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iTopnews ships an update every 4 weeks, Apfelpage monthly. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
